Marty Turner began his career in corrections in 1990 as a correctional officer and later promoted to a supervisor for TDCJ. In 1993 Marty was elected President of AFSCME Local 3848 in Amarillo, in 1995 Marty left TDCJ and began his career with AFSCME Texas Correctional Employees Union in Abilene, TX, and later transferred to the Amarillo office where he since served and gained 28 years of experience as a Union Representative. 

Marty currently services Local 3848, Local 3116 and Local 2974 in West Texas.
